First inspired by our friend Sarah, who took notes of things Ro was saying while Sarah was babysitting her.


 
 

ROWAN, 22 MONTHS, PLANE
Plane.
So high!
Come down!
I hear another one.
Hear it.
So tiny.
Going far away.
Saying hi RoRo!
Lights on.

ROWAN, 22 MONTHS, DEERS
Deers walking.
Going away.
There’s deers. Hiding.
Found ‘em.
Hiding.

ROWAN, 24 MONTHS, WATER
My alligator stamp washed off.
By water.
Lindsay has umbrella.
To keep water out of my eyes.
My clothes dry in washing machine.
Also mama’s clothes.
You want to look at puddle.
My rain boots are at home.
You splash with them.

ROWAN, 23 MONTHS, BROKEN RECORD PLAYER
Music went home.
To its house.
To eat food.
Needle’s mama give needle some water.
Needle’s mama turn off boobie.

ROWAN, 23 MONTHS, LIBRARY STORY TIME
Met Marlowe.
Talking to Marlowe’s mama.
Marlowe try touch that kid’s shirt.
That kid crying.
Marlowe touch that kid’s hand.
That kid say my hand.
That kid’s mama say let’s go home.
Marlowe say no go away.
So sad.

ROWAN, 25 MONTHS, TIRE SWING AT NIGHT
The tire was all covered.
<Oh? What was it covered with?>
With dark, mama.

ROWAN, 23 MONTHS, MORNING AFTER WEANING
That kid
turn into big kid last night.

Our house tipping over.
There’s me!
There’s you, mama.
Our house tipping over.
With everything.
Our whole house tipping over.
